GLOWING SKIN FROM WITHIN

Happy Friday Lovelies!

Skin is everchanging, and is affected by various factors: the skins environment, hormones, skincare, allergies, dehydration, vitamin/nutrient deficiencies, just to name a few! Unfortunately, having a good skincare routine that works well for you, may not be all you need to have your skin looking its best (although it sure does help!)

Healthy skin starts from within. If you are lacking inspiration and aren’t quite sure which foods will best look out for your complexion, keep reading, as this blog post will equip you with 3 healthy, and delicious meals that will do just that!

Let’s start from the beginning, you guessed it, brekky.

1.    Blueberry Blast Bowl

Blueberries are a skin superfood! In fact, all berries are pretty great, as they are fit to burst with antioxidants, which work wonders for the skins structure, complexion, and elasticity. This recipe also brings Vitamin C to the table, which is renowned for its ability to produce collagen, a crucial ‘ingredient’ for healthy, glowing skin.

 INGREDIENTS:

• 200 g blueberries, frozen

• 200 g coconut yoghurt

• 1 tsp maple syrup

• ½ tsp vanilla extract

METHOD:

Pop the blueberries, coconut yoghurt, maple syrup and vanilla extract into a blender, and blend until smooth. Then simply, spoon into a serving bowl, top with your favourite ingredients and enjoy.

This recipe is great because it is completely customisable to you, add a dollop of your favourite spread, a sprinkle of nuts and some extra berries, the choice is yours!

Next on the menu, is a dish recommended by no other than, recipe developer and culinary nutritionist, Jasmine smith.

2.    Tender salmon bedded on a hearty salad of red cabbage, carrots and avocados tossed with a creamy dill vinaigrette

This quick and easy, dairy-free recipe can be eaten at lunch or dinner time. From simmer to scoff, it takes under 30 minutes and is packed with omega-3 and repairing proteins.

The collagen and amino acids found in whey protein are essential in generating healthy skin and nails, and not to be a Debbie Downer but severe protein deficiency may affect your skin, causing redness, flaky skin, and depigmentation. It may also cause brittle nails and hair loss, so diamonds are no longer a girls’ best friend - salmon is!

Last but certainly not least…

3.    Chocolate Super Strawbs

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Strawberries

½ cup dark chocolate (minimum 70 percent cacao)

1 tablespoon coconut oil

½ cup chopped walnuts

METHOD:

Add the coconut oil to the dark chocolate and melt, then

dip the strawberries into the dark chocolate and immediately into the chopped walnuts. Leave to cool for a few minutes and enjoy!

Simple, skin friendly and scrumptious… it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

All the components in this incredibly easy treat, keep your skin looking young and radiant! As we have already found out, the vitamin C in strawberries aid in the production of collagen, keeping the skin firm and clear. Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E, both of which are found in walnuts, support healthy skin and coconut oil is also fantastic for maintaining healthy, radiant skin. Most importantly, it’s absolutely delicious!

And that concludes all 3 skin saving recipes! I sure do hope these have been helpful, and if you do try any of them, feel free to tag us on Instagram.

Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo
