THE TREE OF LIFE

Welcome back lovelies! In todays’ blog we are going to delve deeper into something we have previously mentioned – Lapacho bark.

What is so great about it?

In South America, the lapacho tree is a hidden gem, nicknamed ‘the tree of Incas’, ‘the tree of eternal life’, as these trees live an average of 700-1000 years. Its bark, used in tea and skincare, works wonders both inside and out. Packed with Naphthoquinones,* it fights infections and soothes inflammation inside our bodies. On our skin, it’s like a superhero tackling issues from ulcers to psoriasis and even forms of cancer. Lapacho comes from the Amazon rainforest (Paraguay), and is nature’s secret for keeping our skin youthful, healthy and happy!

How does it delay the signs of aging?

As telomeres* naturally shorten with age, causing skin ageing, lapacho intervenes by delaying this process. Likened by our founder to a shoelace: the ends of our telomeres shorten and fray with time, visually relayed as wrinkles and signs of ageing. Lapacho is like the aglet* which protects the ends from damage, consequently slowing the signs and promoting a radiant, youthful appearance. Although ageing cannot be stopped, the outward signs can be slowed.

Is it ethically manufactured?

Here at DEWCY our lapacho bark is sourced from a 100% women-owned family company as we are deeply dedicated to collaborating with small producers and empowering women. We proudly work with growers in Paraguay to obtain the lapacho tree bark, ensuring responsible and sustainable practices. As part of our commitment to environment, we actively support reforestation as our supplier provides 85 farmers with sapling lapacho trees, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

How do I get my hands on it?

Lapacho can be ingested as herbal tea to treat a number of ailments including infection, fever and stomach complaints. And is sold as a loose-leaf tea which is easy to purchase online. For the benefits of lapacho bark in relation to reducing the signs of ageing and maintaining fuller, younger-looking skin, our vitamin c radiance balm DEW BELIEVE IN MAGIC is the place to go!

I truly hope this blog has been informative and you have gotten to know all about magic of lapacho. Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo
