WHAT IS IT?
Oat plant (Avena sativa) is a meadow grass.
WHAT COUNTRY DOES IT COME FROM?
Sweden.
HOW IS IT PROCESSED/MANUFACTURED?
First, the oat is extracted with alcohol in a special production process. The alcohol is then removed through steam distillation. The result is an extract that has honey-like yet non-sticky texture that is so rich and luxurious.
WHAT’S GOOD ABOUT IT?
It repairs, renews and protects the skin's lipid barrier – helping to prevent and manage the signs of skin ageing. It visibly reduces stress-induced skin redness and visibly reduces wrinkles, boosts hydration for a more youthful complexion.
Our Oat Kernel Extract, is a complex of skin identical lipids including bioactive ceramides, and other compound lipids which provide both short-term and long-term protection of aged skin. Research has shown a 10% increase in ceramides in the skin. It also contains powerful actives that assist in the rapid absorption of skin beneficial molecules (such as vitamins & minerals) assisting in strengthening the dermis and helping to prevent the loss of elasticity and firmness in the future.
Lipid production reduces as we age, resulting in a weaker and thinner skin barrier. The epidermis retains less moisture and becomes more prone to dryness, itchiness and irritation. Our Oat extract is an ideal active to help counter this as a rapidly penetrating ingredient rich in sterols, ceramides and free fatty acids. It is also classified as hypoallergenic.
