Ghana.
HOW IS IT PROCESSED/MANUFACTURED?
The Kernels are extracted and then boiled/cracked. The dry nuts are then crushed, roasted, milled and kneaded into a crude butter. This is then melted & fully refined, then finally steamed & left to cool.
WHAT’S GOOD ABOUT IT?
Shea butter is rich in fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins - containing five essential fatty acids (mostly stearic and oleic acids), phytosterols, vitamins E & D, allantoin (good for healing skin irritations), and vitamin A.
It is great for dry skin and can create softer, hydrated and plumper skin. Shea butter can also help to fade scars, including those left from acne. It can help to calm and heal sunburned, cracked and peeling skin. In some cases it can help sooth skin allergies and insect bites. It will also bring some comfort to those suffering with skin conditions like contact dermatitis and psoriasis.
Shea butter also has components that help to neutralise free radical damage, which can help reduce signs of ageing.
