CATCHING FLIGHTS NOT FLAKES

Traveling and catching flights is incredibly exciting, but it can wreak havoc on our skin. The dry cabin air and recycled airflow can leave our skin feeling parched and lacklustre, especially on long flights. To combat the dehydrating effects of air travel and arrive at your destination with a radiant complexion, prioritizing skin hydration is crucial.

In this blog post, we will explore essential tips and tricks to keep your skin hydrated during a flight. From pre-flight skincare rituals to in-flight moisture boosters, we'll provide you with a guide to ensure your skin stays healthy, supple, and glowing throughout your journey even at 300,000 feet!

1. Cleanse: Before your flight, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt and impurities. Our Miracle Oil is an incredible cleanser that will leave your skin so soft and smooth, whilst eradicating oil and debris that can cause dry skin and clogged pores.

2. Moisturise: Follow up with a hydrating moisturizer to create a protective barrier and lock in moisture. For a more intense balm to prevent mid-air dryness our Twinkle Twinkle Little Jar sleep recovery balm is designed to be gradually absorbed for maximum skin thirst-quenching results. The balm is a concentrated, waterless face balm that helps to repair your skin barrier, whilst firming and rejuvenating your skin while you sleep. Perfect for a night flight!

3. Hydrate: Applying a hydrating face mask the night before or on the day of your flight may be a skincare go-to. This extra boost of hydration can help combat the drying effects of cabin air.

4. Drink Water: Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly during the flight. It unfortunately must be suggested - avoid excessive consumption of alcohol and caffeinated beverages, as they can dehydrate your skin. *eyeroll* I know, (I love an espresso martini too.)

5. Lips are skin too: Applying a hydrating lip balm will prevent those unwanted sandpaper lips. A nourishing lip balm applied regularly should prevent your lips from becoming dry and chapped. Look for lip balms with hydrating ingredients like shea butter or coconut oil.

6. Avoid Touching Your Face: Minimize touching your face to prevent transferring bacteria from your hands onto your skin. Airplane surfaces can harbour germs, so keep your hands clean and use hand sanitizer when necessary.

7. Eye Drops: Combat dry and tired eyes by using lubricating eye drops. The dry cabin air can cause eye discomfort, so keep your eyes refreshed and moisturized with eye drops designed for dryness relief.

8. Get Adequate Rest: Allow your body and skin to recover by getting enough restful sleep. Quality sleep helps your skin rejuvenate and repair itself, promoting a refreshed and glowing appearance, especially on those long-haul flights or traveling through time zones and missing out on essential snooze time.

9. Cleanse Your Skin on Arrival: Once you reach your destination, cleanse your skin to remove any impurities that may have accumulated during the flight. Use a gentle cleanser suited to your skin type to refresh and revitalize your skin and moisturise again. Consistency is key!

10. Protect Your Skin: If you arrive at your destination during the day, ensure you protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF to shield your skin and prevent sun damage. It sets the tone for the whole trip, keep that SPF topped up sunshine!

Most importantly, enjoy your trip and create beautiful memories with nourished and radiant skin. Safe travels lovelies!
