KRAZY ABOUT KAKADU PLUM

Can you believe it lovelies, we’re actually only a week away from entering October (seriously, where has the time gone?!)

And you know what October calls for?! Halloween, everything being pumpkin-flavoured, the beauty of the changing leaves, and the return of questioning whether or not The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween or Christmas movie (it’s obviously a Halloween movie!) But just like any other time of year, October can bring just as many hiccups for your skin as the cold weather can really be a thorn in all of our sides. But while’s there nothing that can be done about the changing of the seasons, there are ways to make sure your skin doesn’t suffer. So, grab your pumpkin-spiced latte and wrap up in your favourite sweater and let’s dive into this.

One method we recommended for all you guys to try is to switch from lightweight moisturisers and instead swap them for a more robust hydrator, in particular using creams and balms that are made with ceramides. Ceramides strengthen the barrier of the skin reducing the chances of dryness and irritation. As a matter of fact, all our balms (wink, wink) include ceramides, helping your skin to ‘Bounce Back’ during the colder months (can I be any more obvious?) And whilst I’m sure you guys are all familiar with the switch to heavy creams, we want to talk to you about our star player ingredient, the Kakadu Plum fruit. Hailing from the harsh and remote conditions of Northern Australia, the Kakadu Plum has been used by the aboriginal people of Australia for thousands of years. Kakadu Plum contains the highest possible known concentration of Vitamin C than any other natural foods in the world. You know Oranges, right? Oranges have around 50mg of Vitamin C concentration per 100g of fruit, The Kakadu Plum has 3800mg per 100g, “that’s over 55 times more Vitamin C than an orange” says Dan Brennan, MD, a Santa Barbara-based certified dermatologist. The oil extracted from these plums encompasses a unique antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental damage, reducing the levels of dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. It does this by stimulating the levels of collagen produced and reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, naturally lightening the complexion of your skin. As we talked about before, now that we’re already in Autumn and not even that far off now from Winter, if any of you lovelies like the idea of using Kakadu Plums for your skincare routine take a look at our beauty balms as this beloved ingredient is in all of them.

Take care guys, and I’ll see you soon

Alex xoxo
